About Pakistán
Pakistan is a very active member of various international forums such as the Islamic Conference and the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). It was recently elected to the Human Rights Council for the 2018-2020 term.
Our history
Pakistan was established as an independent state on August 14, 1947, following the partition of India. Spain and Pakistan established diplomatic relations in 1951 and have since maintained cordial relations characterized by cooperative dialogue and mutual support. They share visions and interests, not only bilaterally but also multilaterally. Pakistan is also a key player in the stabilization of Afghanistan and in the fight against terrorism, extremism, illegal immigration, and the proliferation of weapons.
